MONDAY

Chess (K-5th)

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. Young Musketeers Fencing (K-5th)

Is your child bursting with energy and imagination? Young Musketeers is the perfect program to transform that energy into focus, teamwork, and FUN! Turn your child's energy into awesome skills! Young Musketeers use safe fencing to teach teamwork, focus, and critical thinking. Kids build coordination, speed, and make friends in a fun, engaging one hour after school class.

Learn cool sword skills: Footwork, blade-work, and strategies will make them feel like a real Musketeer! Build a strong body and mind: Fencing is a fantastic way to improve coordination, speed, and critical thinking. Make new friends and have a blast: Group exercises, drills, and even friendly bouts; (practice matches) create a fun and engaging environment!

 

Bath Bomb Explosions! Bath Bomb Making Class (K-2nd)

Students will enjoy measuring, pouring, mixing, and experimenting with different colors, scents, and recipes in this fun bath bomb class. Each class will be filled with fun and cool new techniques to try different types of bath bombs to use or gift. What a fun new hobby! 

 

Movie Makers Art (1st-5th)

Get into the fun of creating our favorite movie characters! Kids will draw, paint, and sculpt from their favorite movies like Zootopia, Sing, even the Grinch! Your movie lover won't want to miss this fun filled class and will be so excited to show you their creation each week!

 

Cooking: Breakfast Club (K-4th)

In this session, the kids will get to learn all sorts of breakfast treats, ranging from super simple, to a delicious meal to get excited over! They will be breakfast champions by the end, being able to crack eggs without a second thought and how to be a baking pro. 

 

Chemistry Creations (K-5th)

Who didn't grow up absolutely LOVING chemistry and all that comes with it? Each week, kiddos will use a science experiments, to really get an understanding on how chemical reactions work.


TUESDAY

Theatre: Acting Out (K-2nd)

Ever wonder what it takes to be an actor? Let ETC give you the acting tools you need! Students will create big characters for the stage through vocal technique and physical movement. Using improvisation, scene creation, and acting exercises, students will gain team building skills and overall confidence!

 

Fall: Masters of Impressionism! (K-5th)

Join us this Fall as we explore the exciting world of Impressionism! Learn about how these famous artists changed the world of art using their imaginations and explosions of color. In this class you’ll create pinch pots, coil pots and slab hand built pottery from start to finish. You’ll even get a chance to glaze your own pottery. Our materials are professional grade stoneware and get fired in our kiln making the pieces both beautiful and functional! Ready to explore? Come on and let’s get muddy!

 

Physical Comedy & Improv Club (3rd-5th)

Improvised scenes, made up stories and characters, comedy with words or without - students will stretch their imaginations, tell a story, convey a thought, and do it all to make the audience crack up!

 

From Seed to Harvest: Home-Grown Gardening Club (K-2nd)

Get your hands dirty and let your green thumbs thrive! Join us for an immersive journey into the world of gardening with our Home-Grown Gardening Club. In this program, elementary school students will learn the joys of growing their own food and flowers while discovering the magic of nature. From planting seeds and nurturing seedlings to harvesting fresh produce, participants will develop essential gardening skills and cultivate a deeper connection to the environment. Get ready to dig in and watch your garden dreams blossom!

 

Flag Football (3rd-5th)

In this super active program, players will learn the basics of flag football. Each day will end with full games, but will begin with lead-up games and skill building to help them hone their skills of throwing, catching, dodging, and flag pulling. Players will also learn how to run a huddle and create plays to share with teammates to make the most out of each snap.

 

Spy Science (K-2nd)

How do detectives and investigators use science to solve a mystery? We will spend this program understanding forensic science and learning the tricks of the spy trade. We'll investigate fingerprints, spying techniques (surveillance), secret codes, invisible ink, and other sneaky science!


WEDNESDAY

Intro to Yoga & Mindfulness (K-5th)

Join us as we connect, breathe, move and relax. Warrior Kids Yoga helps little yogis stay healthy, cope with stress and cultivate their inner strength both on and off the mat. Through our playful programs children experience the benefits of the union of breath, mind and body. Class fee includes a mat for each student to use in class and at home.

 

Spanish (K-5th)

Your child will learn a foreign language, the culture, and traditions of the particular countries where that language is spoken. Instructors use every moment as an opportunity to motivate students to use and practice their speaking skills. Games, songs, and other age-appropriate activities are used by our native-speaking instructors to keep the class fun and interactive.

 

After School Art with Ms. Tio (K-2nd)

Painting, and Drawing, and Sculptures: we will do everything in this after school art class. Does your child like to create? Join Naomi L. Brook’s art teacher, Ms. Tio, and explore fun projects with watercolor and tempera paints, different drawing mediums, and 3-D sculptures!

 

Cats & Dogs Veterinarian Kids (K-5th)

Enjoy unparalleled opportunities to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of veterinary medicine! Begin by adopting a stuffed animal that you can take home. Learn how to examine both cats and dogs of different breeds and assess their health, treat common illnesses, give them shots, and prepare for common dangers your pet may encounter.

 

Hip Hop Dance (K-5th)

Hip Hop by Tippi Toes is the perfect class for boys and girls, who want to dance, stay active and learn how to freestyle. This class focuses on rhythm, musicality and basic footwork. Students will develop coordination, body awareness, build self-esteem and confidence in this fun, executing and energetic class. Class begins with warm-ups and stretching and then moves into learning hip hop steps and choreography. Those that choose to participate have the opportunity to perform in our end of semester recital on a true stage for an additional recital fee (costumes included). More details about the recital will be sent out closer to the date.

 

Scratch Jr. Coding (K-2nd)

Scratch Jr is a visual programming language specifically designed for young children. In this course, children will use Scratch Jr to create interactive stories, games, and animations by dragging and dropping blocks to specify the actions of their program. In this course, children will have the opportunity to create their own narrated stories. In addition to using audio recordings, children will also learn how to use loops to repeat actions, control structures to make decisions, and variables to store and manipulate data. By the end of this course, children will have the skills to create their own interactive programs in Scratch Jr and be well on their way to becoming coding experts. Scratch Jr is a fun and engaging way for young children to learn the basics of coding in a safe and supportive environment.


THURSDAY

Afterschool Pickleball Program (K-5th)

GET READY TO DINK, DRIVE, AND VOLLEY WHILE HAVING FUN WITH TGA! Led by trained and vetted coaches, TGA Pickleball uniquely combines athletics, academics, and life lessons to create a fun, active, and entertaining camp experience. TGA programs include skill development, lessons on rules & etiquette, and activities that explore academic concepts through the lens of the sport. All levels/abilities are welcome and equipment is provided.

Poppin Piano (K-5th)

Students will participate in a music group. Students will learn about the instrument as well as how to play in a music group. FREE Rental instrument and curriculum included!  Instruments and music are intended for in class AND at home practice.  Rental Instrument must be returned at the last class.

 

Cheer (K-5th)

Have big dreams of dancing center field/court for your favorite football or basketball team, then you will want to come learn what it takes from professional cheerleaders and dancers. We will work on motions, dance technique and showmanship to help get you ready to wow the crowd.

Baroody Bakes (K-5th)

There's never a time to say no to fresh baked breads and pastries. Each day, children will get a chance to create a yummy treat from pies to loaves of bread, cupcakes and biscuits. There is SURE to be something they find irresistible.

After School Art with Ms. Tio (3rd-5th)

LEGO Robotics WeDo 2.0 (3rd-5th)

Welcome to Lego WeDo 2.0! In this course, children will have the opportunity to learn about STEM concepts through the use of educational robotics. Using the Lego WeDo 2.0 kit, students will build and program their own robots. Along the way, they will learn about the functions of various robotic components such as motors, hubs, and sensors, as well as important computer science concepts such as sequencing, debugging, and loops. This course is designed to be both educational and fun, and is suitable for use in the classroom or at home. With a variety of project ideas and lesson plans to choose from, students will have plenty of opportunities to explore and discover with Lego WeDo 2.0.
